Thank you for considering Wonder Root Books as the home for your children’s book! We’re always on the lookout for magical stories that inspire, entertain, and captivate young readers. If you’ve written a story that sparks imagination, teaches a valuable lesson, or simply makes kids laugh out loud, we’d love to hear from you.
What We’re Looking For
We specialize in children’s books for all ages, from picture books for toddlers to middle-grade novels for young readers. Here’s what we love to see:
Picture Books: Stories with heart, humour, and vibrant illustrations (0–8 years).
Early Readers: Simple, engaging stories for kids learning to read (5–8 years).
Chapter Books: Fun, adventurous tales for young independent readers (7–10 years).
Middle Grade: Longer stories with memorable characters and exciting plots (8–12 years).
We’re especially passionate about stories that:
Celebrate diversity and inclusivity.
Teach kindness, courage, or curiosity.
Feature unique, relatable characters.
Have a strong emotional core or a delightful sense of humour.
How to Submit
To make the process easy for you, here’s what we need:
A Query Letter: Tell us a little about yourself and your book. What’s the story about? Who is it for? Why are you the perfect person to tell it?
Your Manuscript: For picture books, please send the full manuscript. For longer works, send the first three chapters or 30 pages.
Illustrations (if applicable): If you’re an author-illustrator or have illustrations ready, feel free to include a few samples. (Note: If you’re not an illustrator, don’t worry—we can match your story with one of our talented artists!)
Your Contact Information: Include your name, email address, and phone number so we can reach you.
Please email your submission to info@wonderrootbooks.com with the subject line: "Submission: [Your Book Title]".

We’ll review your submission carefully and get back to you within a month.
If your story feels like a good fit, we’ll reach out to discuss the next steps. If it’s not quite right for us, we’ll still let you know—because we believe every author deserves a response.
A Few Helpful Tips
Make sure your manuscript is polished and ready to go. First impressions matter!
If you’re submitting a picture book, keep the word count between 500–1,000 words (unless your story truly needs more).
Don’t be afraid to let your unique voice shine through. We love stories that feel fresh and authentic.
